Ajooba is a superhero film from 1990, produced and directed by Shashi Kapoor, with co-direction by Soviet filmmaker Gennadi Vasilyev. This Indian-Soviet co-production is loosely inspired by Arabic folklore, particularly narratives from One Thousand and One Nights. A Russian-language version titled Черный принц Аджуба (Black Prince Ajuba) was released in the Soviet Union in 1990, prior to its Indian release in 1991. The film features Amitabh Bachchan in the leading role of the superhero Ajooba, alongside notable actors such as Rishi Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Sonam, Shammi Kapoor, Dara Singh, Saeed Jaffery, and Amrish Puri in key roles.
