Dostana is a Hindi action drama film from India released in 1980. The screenplay was crafted by the renowned duo Salim–Javed, and it was produced by Yash Johar under the direction of Raj Khosla. The film features prominent actors Amitabh Bachchan, Shatrughan Sinha, and Zeenat Aman in key roles, with supporting performances by Prem Chopra, Amrish Puri, Helen, and Pran. It achieved tremendous success at the box office, becoming the fourth highest-grossing film of 1980, following Qurbani, Aasha, and Ram Balram. Dostana also marked the last notable success for director Raj Khosla and was later remade in Tamil under the title Sattam, starring Kamal Haasan
